The storybook Victorian Noe Valley Jewel at 1604 Castro sold for nearly $400K over the asking price a couple of weeks back. Owned by Ann Prochilo— a photographic artist with roots in midwifery and AIDS activism — the quick and successful sale was much appreciated. Ann moved from her house of 15+ years at 1604 Castro into a larger home a couple of blocks away to accommodate her growing family; her fiancé is 6’6’. In her artist statement, Ann says: “I am drawn to the discomfort and tension that precede transition and emergence — that moment before surrendering to sleep, or surfacing from deep waters.” For Ann and her fiancé selling and moving was a whirlwind, but the ‘discomfort and tensions’ were minimized by our crack team and she is back at work doing what she loves.
